« Great online recruitment jokes of our time - number 17 | Main | Active job seekers visit fewer and fewer job boards »

    NORAS results out today

We've had the NORAS results out today - always an exciting time! I'll do more about the findings later, but for now, here's a few tasters

    - 9% of online job seekers now say that they only use the internet to look for jobs; this figure is up 50% year on year from 6% in 2007

    - the average number of job boards visited has dropped from 5.3 in 2007 to 4.8 in 2008 - online job seekers are becoming more discerning - meaning that choosing the right job board is more important than ever

    - 76% of online job seekers have applied for a job that they've found online, 69% of these have obtained an interview and 65% of these have obtained a job (up from 72%, 65% and 56% in 2007)

We've also made a couple of changes to the methodology this year that mean we should be able to give you more information, more often

    - we're publishing the results every month in 2008, allowing sites to include updated ABCe figures as often as they like

    - all job boards now have the option to include the new ABCe response metrics in addition to their Unique User figures, only reed.co.uk have done this so far, including figures for the January results that show generate 1,186,014 Online Job Applications per month

    - we've made the methodology more flexible to allow additional job boards to join NORAS throughout the year

The best thing to do though is to visit the NORAS site, register for your free results and to use the free interactive tool - which we think is pretty neat!
