If you like spam stats (and let's face it, who doesn't) then the Times had some figures in Saturday's issue.

• Number of emails sent every day = 50 billion
• Number of emails sent by spammers every day = 45 billion (90%)
• Cost to UK business every year = £1.3 billion

Helps explain why when you get in every morning you have to spend 5 minutes deleting all the kind offers of penny shares, pills etc.
